Improving life through optimal health

Weight Loss Details

What To Expect

First visit:

We will weigh you, take measurements, calculate your BMI as well as your fat composition utilizing a body composition monitor.

The nurse will draw blood and will do an EKG and take vital signs.

We will have you fill out a health history focused on your weight loss journey, normal diet and activity level as well as medicines or supplements you are currently taking.

You will have a thorough comprehensive consultation and evaluation with the physician in order to diagnose any underlying issues as well as to create your individualized treatment plan.  He will review it with you and will prescribe any pharmaceutical and/or nutraceutical management modalities for you to follow.

The nurse will supply food, nutrient and activity recommendations as well as goal calculations so that you can decide how fast you will lose weight based on how aggressive you would like to be.  The number of calories you need just for your body to function is called your basal metabolic rate, or BMR. Your BMR can determine how to reduce your caloric intake, and weight loss will naturally follow. This will be calculated for you each visit in order to adjust your activities as needed.

Monthly visits:

We will weigh you, take measurements, calculate your BMI as well as your fat composition utilizing a body composition monitor. Your BMR will again be calculated and provided to you.  We will take vital signs to monitor safety.

The nurse will see you and assess your progress over the last month to make recommendations on small changes to direct you towards optimizing your plan. She will then access the physicians’ outcome based standing orders for you and follow his direction on any changes in nutraceuticals or pharmaceuticals based on your individual improvement variations.

All changes of your care will be directed by the physician and the nurse will be following his guidelines originally made for you in his plan of care. Nutraceuticals will be provided and a prescription if warranted will be called in at the end of business that day. You may pick up compounded prescriptions at either a local pharmacy or we can have one sent to you with an extra fee for shipping from the compound pharmacist.

Compounded prescriptions:

Prescriptions are not covered by insurance as they are custom made for your individual needs each month.  We work with many compound pharmacies to get you the best price possible.  The compounded formulas were created by the physician based on years of research on the individual components. They are safe and effective if monitored used properly.
